FAQ

How do I buy plants from you?
TOL sells plants to plantation companies & wholesale growers. Very simple – just send me an email with your interests.

What kind of plants do you sell?
Hort: We sell tissue culture Stage 3 (freshly deflasked) plants with roots. That’s a lot of jargon. Basically, tissue culture is a process of growing plants in bottles in a laboratory setting. For nurseries & greenhouses, we take these plants out of bottles and pack them into boxes for shipping to you. These plants are not accustomed to normal air & light yet, so need to be acclimatized at 50% x 2 shade & near 100% humidity for 1-2 weeks.
Agri / Forestry: Depends. We ship sometimes in Stage 3 and sometimes in stump form.

Can you send me plants in-agar / in-vitro?
No, it is not possible because our experience is that they ship very poorly and often result in high losses.

What documents do I need to import plants from Thailand?
For horticulture, you need two main things:
1. An import permit from APHIS – site url changes, so if it doesn’t work, google “APHIS PPQ 587″
2. A freight forwarder: I recommend Perishable Transport Solutions — one of the least hassle, most dependable freight forwarder we’ve worked with in the US.
3. Send me an email with your contact details & address
For forestry / agriculture, it varies, so get in touch for more details.

Why should I work with you?
We have over 20 years of experience producing forest, food, and garden plants. We have partners in every continent in the world (ex. Antarctica — penguins don’t have a lot of personal disposable income). Dr. Paiboolya is a leader in the field and has worked with the UN, the Thai government, and research institutions to promote biotechnology for genetic preservation and improvement. We work with some of the largest growers and brokers in the world.
